Frequently asked Bible study questions answered
Questions are a natural part of studying Scripture.
This page addresses some of the most common bible study questions and how Bible Study Planet works, how to participate, and what to expect. If you don’t see your question here, please ask using the contact form on this page.
Do I need to create an account to use Bible Study Planet?
You’re welcome to browse articles and study resources without creating an account. An account is optional and simply helps if you’d like to save your place or follow study paths over time.
Is Bible Study Planet for beginners or people with more experience?
Many people begin with uncertainty or questions. You don’t need to have answers, experience, or confidence to read, participate, or ask questions here.
Is there a “right” place to start?
There isn’t a single right starting point. Some people begin by reading blog articles, others join the Bible study group, and some follow a guided study path. You can start wherever feels most useful and move between areas as your interests change.
What is core Bible study?
The core Bible study is a regular, free gathering focused on shared reading, discussion, and reflection on Scripture. It’s open to anyone who wants to participate, and no special materials are required beyond a Bible.
Do I need to attend every Bible study session?
Participation is flexible. You’re welcome to attend when you’re able, step away when needed, and return later. There’s no expectation to keep up or attend every session.
What are optional guided studies?
From time to time, I offer short-term guided studies that focus on a specific question or theme. These studies are optional and usually use a book or workbook to support deeper, more focused reflection.
Why do some guided studies have a cost?
Any cost is tied to materials, such as books or workbooks, and preparation. Payment is never about access to Scripture or belonging. If cost is a concern, it should never be a barrier to participation.
Is this a like a program that I need to complete?
Bible Study Planet isn’t a program or course to finish. It’s a resource and community meant to support thoughtful study over time, at a pace that works for you.
Where do I start if I have basic bible study questions but don’t know anyone else who studies the Bible?
You’re in the right place. Many people who come to Bible Study Planet are studying privately and on their own. You can browse articles and resources at your own pace, or join GraceSpace — our free online community where members gather to read and reflect on Scripture together, including a regular Friday video call at which you can ask any bible study questions. There’s no requirement to introduce yourself or share anything — you’re welcome to simply listen and observe until it feels right to engage.
