The Tribulation Judgments
 

God is our creator and we are accountable to Him. All of us have sinned against God and have turned to our own ways (Isaiah 53:6). God offered His Son Jesus Christ as a Sacrifice for our sins (John 3:16).  Those who accept Jesus as their Savior are not appointed to wrath (1 Thessalonians 5:9).  But many haven't accepted Jesus.  Mankind has rebelled, thinking God wouldn’t respond, but Psalm 37:13 says that He has a time set aside when He will deal with the wicked world.

That time is known as the Tribulation. The Tribulation is a seven year period described in Revelation chapters 6-18.

During the Tribulation God will send judgments upon the earth. The Bible divides them into three groups – The Seal Judgments, The Trumpet Judgments and the Bowl Judgments. Each group has seven judgments within them. The Seal and Trumpet judgments will come during the first 3˝ years while the Bowl judgments come during the second 3˝ years.

Here is what the Bible says the Tribulation Judgments will be:

THE SEALS JUDGMENT (Described in Revelation 6:1-17 and 8:1-6)

"Fall on us and hide us from the face of Him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb! For the great day of His wrath has come, and who is able to stand?" - Revelation 6:16-17

* FIRST SEAL - FALSE PEACE (Rev 6:1-2)
* SECOND SEAL - WAR (vv. 3-4)
* THIRD SEAL - FAMINE (vv. 5-6)
* FOURTH SEAL – DEATH (vv. 7-8)
* FIFTH SEAL - BELIEVERS MARTYRED (vs. 9-11)
* SIXTH SEAL – EARTHQUAKE, STARS FALLING, WRATH OF THE JESUS (vs. 12-17)
* SEVENTH SEAL – THE TRUMPET JUDGMENTS BEGIN (Rev 8:1-6)


THE TRUMPET JUDGMENTS (Described in Revelation 8:7- 9:21 and Rev 10:7)

"Woe, woe, woe, to the inhabitants of the earth..." Revelation 8:13

* FIRST TRUMPET – HAIL, FIRE & BLOOD (Rev 8:7)
* SECOND TRUMPET – BURNING MOUNTAIN CAST INTO THE SEA (vv. 8-9)
* THIRD TRUMPET – ASTEROID HITS EARTH (vv.10-11)
* FOURTH TRUMPET – SUN, MOON & STARS DARKENED (v. 12)
* FIFTH TRUMPET – DEMONS UPON THE EARTH & NO DEATH (Rev 9:1-12)
* SIXTH TRUMPET – HORSEMEN LET LOOSE (vv. 13-21)
* SEVENTH TRUMPET – THE BOWL JUDGMENTS BEGIN (Rev 10:7)


THE BOWL JUDGMENTS (Revelation Chapter 16)

"Then I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvelous: seven angels having the seven last plagues, for in them the wrath of God is complete." Revelation 15:1

* FIRST BOWL - LOATHSOME SORES (v. 2)
* SECOND BOWL - THE SEA TURNS TO BLOOD (v. 3)
* THIRD BOWL - FRESH WATER TURNS TO BLOOD (vv. 4-7)
* FOURTH BOWL - MEN ARE SCORCHED (vv. 8-9)
* FIFTH BOWL - DARKNESS AND PAIN (vv. 10-11)
* SIXTH BOWL – EUPHRATES DRIED UP (v.12)
* SEVENTH BOWL – A GREAT EARTHQUAKE & HAIL (vv. 17-21)


THE WORLD'S RESPONDS TO GOD'S JUDGMENTS

God is a just God and so He must judge the sins of man, but He is also a God of mercy and offers forgiveness through His Son Jesus Christ (John 3:16). Sadly, the world will reject God’s offer of forgiveness. "But the rest of mankind, who were not killed by these plagues, did not repent" - Revelation 9:20


HEAVEN'S RESPONSE TO MAN’S REBELLION

In Revelation 10 John is given a little book to eat. This book contains the judgments of God. "Take and eat it,” he’s told “and it will make your stomach bitter, but it will be as sweet as honey in your mouth." --Revelation 10:9

This is a picture of how God feels about judgment. On the one hand justice is being served and that is good (“sweet as honey”) while on the other it grieves Him to see people reject His forgiveness and suffer (“make your stomach bitter”).
