			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The five most important names of Christ are the following:</p>
<h3>1) Jesus</h3>
<blockquote><p> “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.  And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name JESUS, for He will save His people from their sins.” (Matt 1:20-21)</p></blockquote>
<p>This is the Greek form of the Hebrew Joshua (Jos. 1:1; Zech. 3:1) or Jeshua (Ezra 2:2). Derived from the Hebrew word &#8220;to save&#8221;. It designates Christ as the Saviour (Matt. 1:21).</p>
<p>Two types of Christ bore the same name in the Old Testament &#8211; Joshua, the son of Nun and Joshua, the son of Jehozadak.</p>
<h3>2) Christ</h3>
<blockquote><p>“You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”  (Matt 16:16)</p></blockquote>
<p>This is the New Testament form for the Old Testament &#8220;Messiah&#8221;, which means &#8220;the anointed one&#8221;. According to the Old Testament, prophets (1 Kings 19:16, priests, Ex. 29:7) and kings, (1 Sam 10:1) were anointed with oil. By this anointing they were set aside for their respective offices, and were qualified for them. </p>
<p>Christ was anointed with the Holy Spirit for the threefold office of prophet, priest, and king. Historically, this anointing took place when He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and when He was baptized. (Matt 3:13-16)</p>
<h3>3) Son of Man</h3>
<blockquote><p>The Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many. Mark 10:45)</p></blockquote>
<p>This name, as applied to Christ, was derived from Dan. 7:13. It is the name which Jesus generally applies to Himself, while others seldom use it. </p>
<p>While it does contain an indication of the humanity of Jesus, in the light of its historical origin in points far more to His superhuman character and to His future coming with the clouds of heaven in majesty and glory (Dan. 7:13; Matt. 16:27, 28; 26:64; Luke 21:27).</p>
<h3>4) Son of God</h3>
<blockquote><p>We have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son as Savior of the world.  Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. (1 Jhn 4:14)</p></blockquote>
<p>Christ is called &#8220;the Son of God&#8221; in more than one sense. He is so called, because He is the second Person of the Trinity, and therefore Himself God (Matt. 11:27), but also because He is the appointed Messiah (Matt. 24:36), and because His birth to the supernatural activity of the Holy Spirit (Luke 1:3).</p>
<h3>5) Lord</h3>
<blockquote><p>Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and forever. Amen. (2 Pet 3:18)</p></blockquote>
<p>Jesus’ contemporaries sometimes applied this name to Jesus as a form of polite address, just as we use the word &#8220;sir&#8221;. It is especially after the resurrection of Christ that the name acquires a deeper meaning. </p>
<p>In some passages it designates Christ as the Owner and Ruler of the Church (Rom. 1:7; Eph. 1:17), and in others it really stands for the name of God (1 Cor. 7:34; Phil. 4:4, 5).</p>

<h2>A</h2>
<p><b>There is something to Admit</b></p>
<blockquote><p>&#8220;All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God&#8221; &#8211; Romans 3:23</p></blockquote>
<p>Christians are people who admit that they are weaker, guiltier, and more sinful than they would have ever dared admit. </p>
<p>By nature and by choice we are not in a relationship with God — even though it is for such a relationship that we were created. </p>
<p>And that at the root our lives are self-centered rather than God-Centered, and that we are helpless to break this pattern without the power of God.</p>
<h2>B</h2>
<p><b>There is something to Believe</b></p>
<blockquote><p>&#8220;If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.&#8221; &#8211; 1 John 1:9</p></blockquote>
<p>Christians are people who believe that God loves us so much that he sent his only Son to earth to become a man, Jesus Christ, and that Jesus died on the cross as our substitute and was raised from the dead in order to offer us complete forgiveness. </p>
<p>Through Christ, we are more loved, valued and accepted by God than we would have ever dared imagine.</p>
<h2>C</h2>
<p><b>There is something to Consider</b></p>
<blockquote><p>&#8220;Everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.&#8221; &#8211; 2 Tim 3:12</p></blockquote>
<p>Christians are people who are not naïve, but who have counted the cost of following Jesus. </p>
<p>Being a Christian involves acknowledging Jesus’ authority and lordship in every area of life, welcoming his work to change us from the inside out, and rejoicing to spend time with him and with his followers in the life of the church.</p>
<h2>D</h2>
<p><b>There is something to Do</b></p>
<blockquote><p>&#8220;The man who does not work but trusts God who justifies the wicked, his faith is credited as righteousness.&#8221; &#8211; Romans 4:5</p></blockquote>
<p>Christians are people who have received Christ as Savior and Lord by self-consciously turning from sin, self-centeredness, and self-righteousness (the Bible calls this “repentance“) and trusting in Jesus alone for forgiveness and acceptance by God (the Bible calls this “trusting faith”).</p>

<h3>2) We Are Escorted By Angels To Heaven</h3>
<blockquote><p>So it was that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels to Abraham&#8217;s bosom. (Luke 16:22)</p></blockquote>
<h3>3) We Are Greeted By Christ</h3>
<blockquote><p>Stephen, being full of the Holy Spirit, gazed into heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God, and said, &#8220;Look! I see the heavens opened and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God!&#8221; (Acts 7:55-56)</p></blockquote>
<h3>4) We Enter Into The Joy Of The Lord</h3>

<h3>5) We Are No Longer Under The Curse</h3>
<blockquote><p>No longer will there be any curse (Revelation 22:3)</p></blockquote>
<h3>6) We Become Like Christ</h3>
<blockquote><p>Dear friends, now we are children of God and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when He appears, we shall be like Him. (1 John 3:2)</p></blockquote>
<h3>7) We Dwell With God</h3>
<blockquote><p>Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. (Revelation 21:4) </p></blockquote>
<h3>8) We No Longer Suffer</h3>
<blockquote><p>God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away. (Revelation 21:4)</p></blockquote>
<h3>9) We Serve God</h3>
<blockquote><p>The throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it, and His servants shall serve Him.&#8221; (Revelation 22:3)</p></blockquote>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<blockquote><p>If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! &#8211; 2 Corinthians 5:17</p></blockquote>
<p>When a person comes to faith in Christ there will be some evidence of this faith in their lives. You won’t see perfection in a Christian, but what you will see is something different in that person. You will see some evidence that a person has a relationship with Christ.</p>
<p>Now it’s very important to we understand that we aren’t talking about being saved by works. You aren’t a Christian because you don’t curse or smoke or cut people off in traffic or because you go to church or give money to charity.  </p>
<p>Everyone sins and falls short of God’s glory, but through Christ we are forgiven of those sins. A Christian is someone who calls on Christ to save them from their sins. (Rom 3:23-26)</p>
<p>You’ll see these differences more clearly in some Christians than in others – we’re all a work in progress and we all grow in Christ at different rates. But eventually the person who is following Christ will:</p>
<h3>1) Love Christ</h3>
<blockquote><p>We love Him because He first loved us. (1 Jhn 4:19)</p></blockquote>
<h3>2) Hate Sin</h3>
<blockquote><p>Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. (Rom 12:9)</p></blockquote>
<h3>3) Pray</h3>
<blockquote><p>Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. (Phil 4:6-7)</p></blockquote>
<h3>4) Read and Apply the Teachings of the Bible</h3>
<blockquote><p>Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. (Jam 1:22)</p></blockquote>
<h3>5) Turn from the Works of the Flesh</h3>
<blockquote><p>The works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like.  (Gal 5:19-21)</p></blockquote>
<h3>6) Produce the Fruits of the Spirit</h3>
<blockquote><p>The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. (Gal 5:22-23)</p></blockquote>
<h3>7) Live by Faith</h3>
<blockquote><p>I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. (Gal 2:20)</p></blockquote>

<h3>2) Clean out Anger and replace it with Self Control.</h3>
<blockquote><p>An angry man stirs up dissension, and a hot-tempered one commits many sins. (Psalm 22:9)

<blockquote><p>The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. (Galatians 5:22-23)</p></blockquote>
<h3>3) Clean out Unbelief and replace it with Faith.</h3>
<blockquote><p>See to it, brothers, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God. But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin&#8217;s deceitfulness. (Hebrews 3:12-13)</p></blockquote>
<blockquote><p>For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16)
</p></blockquote>
<h3>4) Clean out Revenge, and replace it with Forgiveness.</h3>
<blockquote><p>Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everybody. If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God&#8217;s wrath, for it is written: &#8220;It is mine to avenge; I will repay,&#8221;says the Lord. (Romans 12:17-19)</p></blockquote>

Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult, but with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing. (1 Peter 3:9)</p></blockquote>
<h3>5) Clean out Complaining and replace it with Praise. </h3>
<blockquote><p>Do everything without complaining or arguing. (Philippians 2:14)</p></blockquote>
<blockquote><p>Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise—the fruit of lips that confess his name. And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased (Hebrews 13:15-16)

<h3>6) Clean out Wicked Thoughts and replace them with Pure Thoughts </h3>
<blockquote><p>The things that come out of the mouth come from the heart, and these make a man &#8216;unclean.&#8217; For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander.(Matthew 15:18-19)</p></blockquote>
<blockquote><p>Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. (Philippians 4:8)</p></blockquote>
<h3>7) Clean out Gossip and replace it with Encouragement.</h3>
<blockquote><p>Without wood a fire goes out; without gossip a quarrel dies down. (Proverbs 26:20)</p></blockquote>
<blockquote><p>Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. </p>
<p>Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. (Ephesians 4:29-32)</p></blockquote>

<p>- Faith will make you see love in the heart of Christ; but unbelief will imagine wrath in his heart (Matt 15:22,28; Num 13; 2 Chron 14:3).</p>
<p>- Faith will give comfort in the midst of fears; but unbelief causes fears in the midst of comfort (2 Chron 20:20,21; Matt 8:26; Luke 24:26,27).</p>
<p>- Faith will suck sweetness out of God’s rod; but unbelief can find no comfort in his greatest mercies (Psa 23:4; Num 21).</p>
<p>- Faith makes great burdens light; but unbelief makes light ones heavy (2 Cor 4:1; 14-18; Mal 1:12,13).</p>
<p>- Faith helps us when we are down; but unbelief throws us down when we are up (Micah 7:8-10; Heb 4:11).</p>
<p>- Faith brings us near to God when we are far from him; but unbelief puts us far from God when we are near to him (Heb 10:22; 3:12,13).</p>
<p>- Where faith reigns, it declares men to be the friends of God; but where unbelief reigns, it declares them to be his enemies (John 3:23; Heb 3:18; Rev 21:8).</p>
<p>- Faith puts a man under grace; but unbelief holds him under wrath (Rom 3:24-26; 14:6; Eph 2:8; John 3:36; 1 John 5:10; Heb 3:17; Mark 16:16).</p>
<p>- Faith purifies the heart; but unbelief keeps it polluted and impure (Acts 15:9; Titus 1:15,16).</p>
<p>- By faith, the righteousness of Christ is imputed to us; but by unbelief, we are shut up under the law to perish (Rom 4:23,24; 11:32; Gal 3:23).</p>
<p>- Faith makes our work acceptable to God through Christ; but work done in unbelief is sin. For without faith it is impossible to please him (Heb 11:4; Rom 14:23; Heb 6:6).</p>
<p>- Faith gives us peace and comfort in our souls; but unbelief works trouble and trial, like the restless waves of the sea (Rom 5:1; James 1:6).</p>
<p>- Faith makes us to see preciousness in Christ; but unbelief sees no form, beauty, or comeliness in him (1 Peter 2:7; Isa 53:2,3).</p>
<p>- By faith we have our life in Christ’s fullness; but by unbelief we starve and pine away (Gal 2:20).</p>
<p>- Faith gives us the victory over the law, sin, death, the devil, and all evils; but unbelief lays us obnoxious to them all (1 John 5:4,5; Luke 12:46).</p>
<p>- Faith will show us more excellence in things not seen, than in them that are; but unbelief sees more in things that are seen, than in things that will be hereafter;. (2 Cor 4:18; Heb 11:24-27; 1 Cor 15:32).</p>
<p>- Faith makes the ways of God pleasant and admirable; but unbelief makes them heavy and hard (Gal 5:6; 1 Cor 12:10,11; John 6:60; Psa 2:3).</p>
<p>- By faith Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob possessed the land of promise; but because of unbelief, neither Aaron, nor Moses, nor Miriam could get there (Heb 11:9; 3:19).</p>
<p>- By faith the children of Israel passed through the Red Sea; but by unbelief the generality of them perished in the wilderness (Heb 11:29; Jude 5).</p>
<p>- By faith Gideon did more with three hundred men, and a few empty pitchers, than all the twelve tribes could do, because they believed not God (Judg 7:16-22; Num 14:11,14).</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<h3>1. Read The Bible With An Honest Desire To Understand It</h3>
<blockquote><p>&#8220;How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth! I gain understanding from your precepts; therefore I hate every wrong path.&#8221; (Ps 119:103-104)</p></blockquote>
<p>Don&#8217;t be content to just read the words of Scripture. Seek to understand the message they contain.</p>
<h3>2. Read The Bible With A Simple Faith And Humility</h3>
<blockquote><p>&#8220;I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life.&#8221; (Jhn 5:24)</p></blockquote>
<p>Believe what God reveals and rest in His promises.</p>
<h3>3. Read The Bible With A Spirit Of Obedience And Self-Application</h3>
<blockquote><p>Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. But the man who looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues to do this, not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it—he will be blessed in what he does. (Jam 1:22,25)</p></blockquote>
<p>Apply what God says to yourself and obey His will in all things.</p>
<h3>4. Read The Bible With Every Day</h3>
<blockquote><p>&#8220;Those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.&#8221; (Isa 40:31)</p></blockquote>
<p>We quickly lose the nourishment and strength of yesterday&#8217;s Word. We must feed our souls the manna God has given us daily.</p>
<h3>5. Read The Bible In Its Entirety</h3>
<blockquote><p>&#8220;All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.&#8221; (2 Tim 3:16)</p></blockquote>
<p>Read the entire Bible, a portion every day, comparing Scripture with Scripture.</p>
<h3>6. Read The Bible In Context And Interpret Scripture With Scripture</h3>
<blockquote><p>&#8220;You are in error because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God.&#8221; (Matt 22:29)</p></blockquote>
<p>Read Scripture in its context, and use related Scripture to help interpret a passage&#8217;s meaning.</p>
<h3>7. Read The Bible With Christ As The Centerpiece</h3>
<blockquote><p>&#8220;Beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning himself.&#8221; (Luk 24:27)</p></blockquote>
<p>The whole Book is about Him. Look for Him on every page. He is there. If you fail to see Him there, you need to read that page again.</p>
